1) Was anyone in this group involved with booking the theatre last year? How much was the rental fee?

2) Anyone interested in planning another SERENITY screening in 2007? If so please send me your contact info and days you're available to meet.

3) Anyone want to sponsor a 2007 screening? Or anyone know any businesses who'd want to sponsor?

Funny thing about that idea because I was thinking about that myself. I have a friend who moved to Seattle and his wife who is a Serenity fan, mentioned that a group rented out a theatre for such a thing. From what I heard, the group needs to have about 60 people committed for such a rental, but that was based over in Seattle at one time.
A good place for here is some where that has a Fine Arts Theatre. The only place I can think of is .........probably in the Downtown area of Evanston right off of the Davis purple line train station. The movie theatre is called the Century 12 which hosts two types of movies. One for the typical family, adventure, drama, suspense movies and the other for foreign films.
I can try to contact the manager there and see what it takes to rent out one of the theatre rooms. If we can pull this off, then I can say, we got a shiny shindig to go to.

At this moment, I'm awaiting confirmation from our theatre-of-choice, the Portage, where we held last year's event. It wouldn't be a bad thing to have a "Plan B" in place, though, so if you'd like to call another theatre and make inquiries, that'd be tres groovy. I'd just ask that you get involved in the conversation over there so we aren't all duplicating efforts.

We'd be glad of any help in making this a huge shindig worthy of the Browncoat name....!

Hello all,

So since there will be an annual screening at the Portage Theatre on June 22, 2007, I know there will be some exciting entertainment going on, like contests and such. As far as that, I am thinking of putting on a live 5 minute skit. It will require at least 4 people to do this live act but I got to recuit first to make it happen. I know we will have about 5 full hours of movie time but I got to ask, I think Mary, to see if she can squeeze my 5 minute skit in, if the schedule permits. I don't want to say what kind of skit it is because it's going to be a surprise.

I know I can make a fool of myself most of the time but doing it infront of die-hard or newbie fans is going to be crazy..
I don't know, just trying something different since this will be my first at one of these shindigs...
