Join us at Mystic Celt in the heart of Wrigleyville for a night of fun with a cross-section of Chicago fandom!
(NOTE: We're going to have our regular First-Tuesday meetup with The Browncoats as well the next day. Go to one or both!)
Last month's event had 81 attendees from many local meetups. Groups represented this month will include:
The Chicago Horror Meetup - They may just turn you into a zombie! The horror group will be showing you how to do good makeup effects, just in time for Halloween!
The Chicago Boardgames Meetup - Play some fun, fast-paced games.
ChiSciFi.net - Talk about anything and everything Science Fiction & Fantasy related, or pretty much anything geeky at all!
The Chicago Browncoats - Talk about all things in the Joss 'verse.
The Chicago Boardgames Design Group - Check out some innovative new games that can't be found anywhere else!
RPG Chicago - Cast some spells, slay some zombies!
The Empire of Chivalry and Steel Meetup - Learn about historical Medieval re-creations.
The AnimeChicago Meetup - All things Anime in Chicago, bringing out the Otaku in you!
The NE Illinois J.R.R. Tolkien/Lord of the Rings Meetup - Celebrate everything Tolkien!
RSVP "YES" or a "MAYBE" ASAP to be eligible for Door Prizes!
So far we have:
One pair of weekend passes to the Chicago Toy and Game Fair
Art of Guild Wars 2 book, signed by the artists
and two $10 gift cards to Mystic Celt!
More prizes coming. Must be present to win.
Mystic Celt is a festive Irish Pub atmosphere with a wide menu and great beer and we have our own private room! Street parking is decent for the area(bring some quarters until 9) and it's super-close to trains. Mystic Celt specializes in their $5.00 Celt Burger & fries specials(beef, turkey or veggie burgers), plus lots of other delicious options & tasty beverages, & there is plenty of geeky conversation for all!
We order our food as we arrive and get settled so that we don't hit the kitchen too heavily. They generally do one check per table, but they are good about splitting it up for individuals.
If you are an Organizer or Assistant Organizer of a local Fandom meetup and would like to be part of the Chicago Fandom Meetup Mashup, please feel free to contact either UrbanFirefly or Rob Jacob at ChiSciFi.net, or Nate at Chicago Boardgames. You are welcome to promote your group and upcoming activities at the Mashup!
